Players Meeting for the: 11th Annual Bear Hollow Ice Bowl - Jan 2nd, 2025
Patriot’s Gold & Silver presents: The 11th Annual Bear Hollow Ice Bowl Players’ Meeting
Welcome Back to all as we begin the new year of 2025! This year’s DGM Tour kicks off the with the Bear Hollow Ice Bowl that Nick Helm continues to make happen. I want to thank him for his efforts in making this a long running event on the tour. Thank you Nick for the dedication and pre-event planning!
Welcome players to the Patriot’s Gold & Silver 11th Annual Bear Hollow Ice Bowl! Thank you Jeff Ford for jumping on board as the title sponsor again this year. This event is where I first met Jeff, and he was eager to find out more about sponsoring. He continues to be a main contributor every year, and I can’t thank him enough!
I am currently working on my Tour Sponsors, and I am excited to have several new opportunities. By the next event I should have the full list of DGM’s Tour Sponsors! If you want information on how to sponsor an event or the tour please contact me. We cannot do what we have done for the last 16 years without amazing sponsors.
For the Ice Bowl temperatures during play are predicted to be between 30-40 degrees on Saturday. The weather app has a 30-40% chance of snow as well. I am thinking we should be good for two rounds, but as most of us know about the weather in the Ozarks, it is a guessing game and hard to predict. On all Ice Bowl flyers I do make sure to mention that weather may cause the 2nd round to be canceled. People often ask about how decisions are made when canceling due to weather. I always want players to be safe first and foremost. If we get snow/freezing precipitation in the area and it looks like the roads could get bad, I will make the decision to end the event after the first round. My team and I will be keeping a close look at the local and surrounding area forecast. Fortunately, I have not had to cancel a second round of an Ice Bowl, and I’m hoping to keep the streak going!
Everyone needs to check in at the pavilion.
Round 1 tees off at 10. The official scorekeeping will be at pdga.com/score. The code is ICE. By PDGA rule, everyone is required to keep score. Round 1 player course and hole assignments will be posted shortly after registration closes Friday night at https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/87454. The staff will automatically receive the scores at tournament central. After the first round, you're on your own for lunch. Round 2 SHOULD start at 1, but may change based on last card. There will be an announcement by DGM staff, and Round 2 assignments will be posted on the PDGA page.
Rules for the course are listed below. There will be a CTP on Hole 2 and any disc can win. If there is any question about any throws or lies, try to make a group decision. If no decision can be made, play a provisional. When possible, consult with the course TD to determine the correct answer.
Course distances and OB rules: All concrete and walking paths are OB. In most cases, simply refer to the posted sign for rules
